Young Researcher Prizes - Invited Speakers

Mattia Tiboni, PhD

Mattia Tiboni is a senior postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in pharmaceutical technology at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. He earned his PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from the same university, presenting a thesis on the applications of 3D printing in the pharmaceutical field. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting PhD student at the University of Helsinki in Finland. His current research focuses on innovative 3D-printed solutions, ranging from microfluidics for nanomedicine manufacturing to medicines and medical devices.

Annalisa Scroccarello, PhD

Annalisa Scroccarello is a researcher (RTDa) in analytical chemistry at the University of Teramo. She is the author and co-author of 40 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and 60 oral and poster contributions at national and international conferences. Annalisa’s main research activities, carried out within the NanoUniTeLAB, focus on the development of (bio)sensors and analytical, optical, and electrochemical devices based on nanomaterials and sustainable components for the monitoring of targets of agro-food, environmental, and biological interest.

Diego Sorbelli, PhD

Diego Sorbelli currently works as a researcher (RTD-A) in general and inorganic chemistry at the University of Perugia (Italy). He earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling from the same university in 2023 and subsequently held a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Chicago (United States). His research bridges quantum chemistry and materials science to design molecular qubits and organic semiconductors for clean energy and quantum technologies. His work has received several distinctions, including the 2024 Junior EnerCHEM Award for his contributions to renewable energy research.
